Open Positions

MEGT'S Mission Statement: Promoting and Supporting Excellence in Gifted and Talented Education

We have three positions that are open for election! We welcome your voice to our board!

Two South Positions ◆ One North Position

Requirements:

Current member of MEGT
Live and/or work in the region
Current (or formerly) licensed teacher
District support (preferred)

Responsibilities:

Promote the mission and vision of MEGT
Strongly advocate for gifted students and education
Attend MEGT State Board meetings
- Typically five per year
- One meeting occurs during the MEGT Midwinter Conference
- Most meetings take place in a central location
- One of the meetings is a two-day summer retreat
- Additional board meetings may be scheduled as needed
Attend and assist at the MEGT Midwinter Conference
Assume assignment of a role/task on the board
Serve as a contact person for your region

MEGT members will receive an email with candidate information and voting instructions for their region.
Voting takes place online from May 16-30, 2026.
Our next board meeting will be virtual on Monday, May 18, 2026.

Election results will be shared by June.
